What strange and extraordinary times we have all witnessed over these last few months! After closing our doors back in March, we are over the moon to be safely reopened and welcoming our wonderful guests back.
Despite the challenges lockdown presented to us, we used this time to give some areas of The Queensberry a refresh – the results of which we are very excited to reveal to you now!
Our Room Refurbishment Programme
Firstly, we ploughed full steam ahead with our room refurbishment programme, with 26 of our 29 bedrooms now complete.
To carry out their vision – to create a hotel that feels like a friend’s ‘rather comfortable home’ in the splendour of a classic Georgian Townhouse, owners Helen and Laurence Beere selected Sarah Latham of Etons of Bath – a local interior designer specialising in Georgian property. Sarah and her team redesigned every bedroom and bathroom from scratch – each one different, unique, exciting and comfortable.
Over 60 different suppliers and local craftsmen were used to complete the makeovers, with traditional paint colours sourced from Farrow and Ball and Little Greene, an eclectic array of bold wallpapers and bespoke headboards contributed by Cole & Son, Pierre Frey, Romo, Juliet Travers and Jane Churchill, opulent lighting provided by Visual Comfort, Pooky and Chelsom, and each bathroom finished using Burlington sanitaryware, and bespoke mirrors from Looking Glass of Bath.
Every room features a luxury bed from Harrison Spinks dressed in sheets of Egyptian Cotton of the highest grade, as well Ruark R1 radios and top of the range Panasonic televisions.
Additional Changes At The Queensberry
As well as our room refurbishment programme, we have ensured our guests’ luxurious experience extends beyond their bedrooms by similarly refreshing the hotel’s façade, corridors and public spaces, and we have also rearranged our beautiful secret garden in a way that allows our guests the opportunity to enjoy alfresco dining right in the heart of Bath, whilst maintaining social distancing.
